CHATEAUGAY, NY : NH man dies in Chateaugay crash; Jay resident injured on Route 11 on Wednesday, 19th December 2018

A New Hampshire man died in a fatal crash Wednesday after his car struck a pickup truck on Route 11 in Chateaugay.
Michael F. Stafford, 76, of Hinsdale, N.H., was traveling westward in a 2005 Subaru Forester at about 2:05 p.m., state police said in a press release, and was executing a left-hand turn when he failed to yield the right of way to a 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup driven by David E. Reinmann, 81, of Jay.
Reinmann’s pickup struck Stafford’s vehicle and overturned, coming to rest in a ditch on the south side of the road. The trailer Reinmann’s truck had been towing detached and also landed in the ditch.
Reinmann was taken by ambulance to University of Vermont Health Network, Alice Hyde Medical Center, where he was being treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
