Branchland, WV : Driver Dies in Paving Tanker Crash on Route 10 in Lincoln County on early Friday morning, September 12, 2014

A tanker truck crash early Friday morning has closed part of W.Va. 10 in Branchland for an indefinite period of time, according to 911 dispatchers.
The crash happened around 6 a.m. near the intersection of Roy Branch Road in Lincoln County. The tanker was transporting petroleum asphalt, and more than 1,500 gallons spilled onto the roadway. The driver was transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
There was no time line for when the road would reopen, according to dispatchers, although one lane had reopened by late afternoon.
The West Hamlin Volunteer Fire Department, Guyan River Volunteer Fire Department, West Virginia State Police and the state Division of Highways responded. The county is also working with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection on cleanup, dispatchers said.
