ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FL : Car crashes into A&E Fabrics in Escambia County on Wednesday, 13th February 2019

A car crashed into A&E Fabrics in Escambia County just after 1 pm Wednesday.

Firefighters say there were minor injuries but no one was taken to the hospital.

Jeff Roche was the driver who crashed into the front of the store. He says his car uses hand controls and when he was pulling into a parking spot his leg had a spasm and he ended up hitting the gas pedal.

Roche says this has never happened before and he hopes it does not happen again.

"It was a freak," Roche said. "I can't think of anything I could have done differently because it was a nervous spasm that I had in my leg for the last couple of weeks."

Store employees said the store will be closed for a while due to no electricity.

The Florida Highway Patrol says Roche has been charged with careless driving.
