SISSETON, SD : Two women died in a two-vehicle crashon Thursday, October, 19th 2017

Two women died Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash on South Dakota Highway 10 three miles east of Sisseton.

Names of the two killed in the 11:10 a.m. accident have not yet been released pending notification of family.

A 2008 GMC Sierra pickup, driven by a 36-year-old woman, was traveling east on Highway 10 when it crossed the centerline and struck a westbound 2003 Dodge Caravan, driven by an 85-year-old woman, head-on. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge Caravan was wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the GMC Sierra was not wearing a seatbelt.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Other agencies on scene were the Roberts County Sheriff’s Office and Sisseton tribal officers.
