According to the Lumberton Police Department, a CSX train struck a man who was walking on the railroad tracks over the river between Elm Street and MLK Drive in Lumberton on Thursday, September 1 at 11:52 p.m.
Ken S. Pope, 39, died from his injuries at the scene.
Foul play isn’t suspected from the investigation, according to the press release.
