Umpqua, OR : Coos Bay man steals car, crashes, strips nude on Roseburg highway on Friday September 19th 2014
A Coos Bay man faces multiple charges after he allegedly stole and crashed a car Friday off the North Umpqua Highway.
According to Roseburg police, Scott Forrest Kytola, 58, stole a 1963 Chevrolet C10 panel truck from the parking lot of Oregon Tool and Supply at 276 S.E. Stephens St.
At about 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 19, police said he crashed the vehicle in the 5500 block of the North Umpqua Highway. Kytola then tried to steal a log truck but was deterred by the driver, according to police.
Before officers arrived, Kytola stripped off his clothes and ran around the highway. When police arrived, he resisted arrest and was forced to the ground and handcuffed, according to Roseburg police.
Kytola was arrested on suspicion of second-degree disorderly conduct, reckless driving, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, attempting to commit a Class C felony, harassment, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and two counts of second-degree criminal mischief. He was taken to Douglas County Jail, where he was held in lieu of $86,250 bond.
