Van Buren, NY : Man dies after being hit by tractor-trailer at FedEx trasfer facility in Van Buren on Saturday, November 15, 2014

State Police are investigating the death of a man who was struck by a tractor-trailer at a Syracuse area FedEx facility. Troopers say 66-year-old Lewis Pipher of Auburn got out of the passenger side of an International tractor-trailer at the FedEx Transfer Facility in the town of Van Buren shortly after 1:30 a.m. Saturday. As he was crossing in front of the vehicle toward the security building, Pipher was struck. Police say the driver, 66-year-old Anselm Martin of Oswego, didn't see Pipher walk around the front of the truck. He struck him as he was pulling away from the building to park the truck.
