Santa Paula, CA : One person killed and one person injured a fatal crash involving a tractor at East Telegraph and Hobson roads on Thursday, December 3, 2015

One person was killed and one person suffered minor injuries Thursday in a crash near Santa Paula, authorities said.

The California Highway Patrol said a male driver was headed west on Highway 126 about 1:50 p.m. east of Boosey Road when "for reasons that are still under investigation," his vehicle went into the eastbound portion of the highway, colliding head-on with another vehicle. The collision then caused the vehicle of the male driver to spin out of control and veer back into the westbound lanes of the highway, where it hit two other vehicles, the agency said.

The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene, the patrol said. Another person suffered minor injuries but did not need to be taken to a hospital, authorities said.

Authorities did not release the motorist's name pending notification of next of kin.

The Ventura County, Santa Paula and Fillmore fire departments responded to the crash, authorities said. Traffic delays were reported on East Telegraph Road while authorities investigated.
