Donaana County, N.M : Deming woman killed in I-10 crash west of Las Cruces on Thursday evening, February 23, 2017

One person is dead following a Thursday evening crash on I-10.

New Mexico State Police were dispatched in reference to a fatal motor vehicle accident at around 8:15 p.m. at mile marker 136 on Interstate 10, just west of Las Cruces.

A state police preliminary investigation revealed that an eastbound semi-tractor trailer rig driven by Felipe Jose Ricardo Johnson, 52, from Apopka, FL crossed the median and entered the westbound travel lanes of Interstate 10 and collided head-on with a passenger vehicle that was driven by Kathryn Armijo, 54, from Deming.

Ms. Armijo sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

State police is reporting no additional information is available at this time.

This vehicle crash is still under investigation.
