Police say two people were killed in a crash involving a Cook County sheriff's squad car in Chicago's northern suburbs.The two-car crash happened Thursday morning at the intersection of two multi-lane city streets in Niles.

Niles police said two people died from the crash. Cook County sheriff's spokeswoman Sophia Ansari said the sheriff's officer was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Police didn't immediately say what led up to the collision. The crash left the front hood of the squad car smashed in, while the other car had its front and passenger side badly damaged.
