Las Vegas, NV : 42-year-old Gabriela Martin de Mendoza died in crosswalk, charged with DUI on Monday, Oct 5, 2015

Las Vegas police have identified the man accused of intentionally striking and killing a woman with his pickup truck.

Police arrested 41-year-old Jesus Mendoza-Cabezas Monday in the crash that killed 42-year-old Gabriela Martin de Mendoza. Authorities believe Mendoza-Cabezas had been in a domestic relationship with the victim. He faces several driving charges, including driving under the influence.

Detectives say the driver made a U-turn before hitting the woman, who was in a crosswalk, and then crashing into a home.

The woman was found underneath the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver fled on foot and was stopped by a witness until officers arrived.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
