HAUSER, ID : A man dies in two-vehicle crash on Highway 53 on Tuesday, 10th March, 2020

A 21-year-old Coeur d’Alene man died Tuesday in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 53, near the state line, Idaho State Police reported.

A 1998 Subaru Legacy driven by Gage Frizzell was traveling westbound on Highway 53 around 4 p.m. near milepost 0.8 when it drifted into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a 2017 Ford F-150, police reported.

Frizzell was pronounced dead on the scene, police reported, while the pickup truck driver, Patrick D. Creekmore, 45, of Rathdrum, was transported by ambulance to Kootenai Health with non-life threatening injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts, and the highway was blocked for about 2½ hours, police reported.
