Davenport, IA : Driver dies from injuries suffered in head-on crash on Friday, February 10th 2017

Two people were seriously injured Friday in a two-vehicle crash in the area of Locust Street and the Jersey Ridge Road overpass.

Just before noon, Davenport police, fire and EMS were dispatched to the crash. The initial investigation indicates that a westbound Dodge truck driven by John Morgan, 38, of Davenport, crossed the center line and struck an eastbound Chrysler passenger car driven by Ruth Hitchcock, 93, of Bettendorf.

Both were transported to Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street, Davenport, for treatment of serious injuries.

Morgan was cited for driving left of center, control of vehicle, driving under suspension and no insurance.
