Nacogdoches, TX : One killed in 3-vehicle Nacogdoches crash on Loop 224, Thursday morning on September 11, 2014
A three-vehicle accident involving a log truck and two other vehicles resulted in the death of a 55-year-old Missouri City man Thursday morning.
According to a press release from the Nacogdoches Police Department, the accident occurred at 11:18 a.m. in the 2300 block of Southeast Stallings Drive.
The initial accident report stated that John Keith Ferguson, 41, of Nacogdoches, was traveling east on Loop 224 in a 2012 Peterbuilt tractor-trailer rig loaded with logs. Behind the 18-wheeler was a Chevrolet Captiva SUV driven by Emmanuel Alia, 55, of Missouri City, Texas.
When the traffic slowed, the Captiva struck the rear of the log truck. Alia was transported by an ambulance to a Nacogdoches hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
A third vehicle, a Honda CRV driven by Brenda Rodriguez, 51, of Stafford, was behind the Chevrolet, and it struck the SUV from behind.
No one else was injured in the accident.
The Nacogdoches Fire Department, the Nacogdoches Ambulance Service, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Department of Public Transportation also assisted at the scene.
