A 23-year-old Greenville man died Saturday night after being struck by two vehicles on East North Street, officials said.

Christian James Batton died at the scene of the accident, which happened shortly past 7:30 p.m., according to the Greenville County Coroner's Office. His cause of death was listed as multiple blunt-force injures.

A 2008 Honda Accord driven by Adell Miller, 61, of Greenville, struck Batton after he stepped in front of the vehicle as it headed east on East North Street, said South Carolina Highway Patrol Cpl. Bill Rhyne.

Batton was knocked into the westbound land of East North Street, where he was struck by another vehicle, possibly a white sport utility vehicle, that left the scene, Rhyne said.

Anyone with information about the second vehicle that struck Batton is asked to call the State Patrol at 864-241-1000.
