CHARLESTON, IL : 3 hurt in Charleston accident on Tuesday, 20th March 2018

Two people were sent to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon following a three-vehicle accident at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday.

An initial investigation of the accident suggests one driver attempted to cross the road and struck another going eastbound on Illinois Route 16 at the Douglas Drive intersection, according to police. This resulted in another collision with another vehicle, Charleston police say.

The two who were involved in the initial collision were sent to the hospital and the third driver was treated on scene. No names had been released as of Tuesday evening

The accident is still under investigation by law enforcement.
