Elm Creek, NE : Man died in a single vehicle crash Sunday on Interstate 80 two miles east of Elm Creek on May 25, 2014

A Pensacola, Florida, man has died in a crash on a Nebraska roadway.

Frank J. Schofield, 45, was driving a 2005 Nissan pickup eastbound at about 1:30 a.m. when the vehicle crossed the median and both lanes of traffic, then rolled and came to rest in the south ditch, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.

Schofield was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle, according to the patrol.

He was taken to the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, where he was pronounced dead.
