Salem,OH : Three young adults killed in crash morning on August, Friday 4th 2017

State Highway Patrol is looking into a fatal crash that killed three people Friday morning in Salem Township.

Investigators say a Dodge Ram 1500, driven by Kenneth Recker, 47, was driving eastbound on Oak Harbor Southeast when Cora Roob, 19, was driving northbound on Muddy Creek North Road in a 2007 Nissan Altima and pulled into Recker's path.

Both vehicles went off the roadway.

Roob was pronounced dead at the scene. She had two passengers in her car who also died as a result of the crash. Barbara Redfern, 18, and Joshua Coy, 19, were taken to Magruder Hospital where they succumbed to her injuries.

Recker was uninjured in the crash.

Patrol officers say marijuana was found in Roob's car, but it is unclear whether or not it contributed to the crash. Officials do not suspect alcohol played a role.

Roob was taken to the Lucas County Coroner's Office for an autopsy and toxicology screening.
