AMBRIDGE, PA : Hazmat crew called to Ambridge crash on Monday, 16th July 2018

A portion of Route 65 was closed for nearly two hours Monday morning when two cans containing medical radiation matter were thrown from a transport vehicle involved in a crash, police said.

According to Ambridge police, cans did not break and no radiation matter spilled out into the street.

The two-vehicle crash was reported at about 9 a.m. Monday on Route 65 at Eighth Street in Ambridge. Officials at the Beaver County 911 Center said packages labeled with “radioactive placards” spilled out of a vehicle.

A hazmat team was called to assist in the clean-up.
