TIVERTON, RI : Tiverton fire responds to single-vehicle crash on Saturday, 14th December, 2019

No hospital transports from the scene were necessary after a single-vehicle crash on Main Road Saturday night.

The Tiverton Fire Department responded to Main Road just south of Tiverton Town Farm for a motor vehicle crash with downed wires, according to the department’s Twitter page. Tiverton Fire Lt. Andrew Kettle said in a phone call with a reporter Sunday morning that a car hit a telephone pole. The department tweeted that firefighters were on scene about 9:30 p.m.

One lane of Main Road was closed in the crash area while National Grid made repairs on Saturday night. Kettle said Sunday morning he believed the scene was entirely cleared by that time.

The Tiverton Fire Department dispatched Engine 3 and Rescue 1, Kettle said. “I think that’s probably best left for the police to answer,” he said when asked for contributing factors to the crash.
