CHEROKEE COUNTY, OK : 69-year-old dead after Cherokee County motorcycle crash on Wednesday, 20th September 2023

A 69-year-old is dead after a motorcycle crash in Cherokee County Wednesday afternoon, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).

OHP said it happened around 1:43 p.m. near 6 Mile Road and County Line Road, about five miles east of Fort Gibson.

According to OHP, 69-year-old Ronald Hunter of Fort Gibson was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle north on 6 Mile Road, behind a Ford Truck driven by 37-year-old Joshua Brooks of Fort Gibson.

OHP said Brooks slowed down to make a left turn and Hunter tried to pass.

According to OHP, Hunter hit Brooks, and then Hunter hit a pipe fence.
