Pittstown, NY : Car driver dies after collision with school bus on Route 7 in Pittstown on Tuesday, October 21, 2014

State police say the driver of a car has died after a collision with a school bus carrying elementary school students in Rensselaer County. Troopers tell local media outlets the car crossed a double yellow line and collided with the bus. The Brunswick/Brittonkill School District says on its web page that 26 Tamarac Elementary School students were on the bus when the accident happened shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday on Route 7 in Pittstown. The district says one student was transported by ambulance to a hospital. Police tell media outlets the student's injuries were minor. The name of the driver and details of the accident weren't immediately released. The school district says counseling services will be available at the school on Wednesday.
