Dothan, AL : A two-vehicle accident on May, Monday, 22nd 2017

A two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon in Santa Rosa County, Florida, claimed the life of a Cottondale, Fla., man.

According to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol, James Anderson, 65, was killed when his 2014 Kia Optima made contact with a 2016 Ford Van driven by a man from Locust Grove, Georgia.

The accident happened on Interstate 10 at 12:38 p.m. According to the release, both vehicles were traveling west on I-10. Anderson's vehicle approached the van from the rear and made contact, causing Anderson's vehicle to cross the grass median and eastbound lanes of traffic before striking trees on the south side of the roadway.

The driver of the van was not injured, according to the release.
