New york, NY : 52-year-old man dead after hit by 3 cars in the Bronx on Friday, January 8, 2016

Police say a 52-year-old man is dead after he was hit by a car in the Bronx and then struck by two more cars as he was lying in the roadway.

The accident happened at 10 p.m. Friday.

Police say the man was crossing East 170th Street when he was knocked to the pavement by a car that kept going.

Police say a second car hit the victim and also kept going. A third car hit the man and the driver remained at the scene.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name was not immediately released.

The investigation is ongoing.
