COLLEGE STATION, TX : Auto-pedestrian accident sends man to hospital at the intersection of Wellborn Road and George Bush Drive on Friday, 18th January 2019

A man is hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in College Station.

College Station Police Department officers responded to a major accident at the intersection of Wellborn Road and George Bush Drive early Friday morning. A vehicle and a pedestrian were involved.

The investigation in the crash found a man entered into the roadway in the crosswalk at a time not permitted by the crosswalk indicator lights.

The man was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Wellborn Road, which had the green light to proceed through the intersection. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with incapacitating injuries.

The intersection of George Bush Drive and Wellborn Road was closed for three hours to conduct the investigation, but has since opened up again.
