A 13-year-old-boy is accused of crashing a stolen car in Racine County early Monday morning.
Mount Pleasant police spotted multiple vehicles speeding around 2:30 a.m. Police chased the suspects, but eventually called off the pursuit for safety reasons.
After the pursuit ended, an officer spotted a crashed vehicle near Washington Avenue and West Road. The vehicle was on fire. The officer extinguished the fire and arrested a 13-year-old as he tried to run away from the scene. The boy had minor injuries.
Police later discovered that the boy and several other suspects had broken into the Porcaro Ford dealership near Washington Avenue and Hunter Drive. The business has substantial damage, according to police.
It appears that the other suspects got away.
