Idaho Falls, ID : Bicyclist killed another injured after vehicle that collided with two bicyclists at Highway 26 On Wednesday, July 13th, 2016
Bonneville County Sheriff's deputies and Idaho Falls Ambulance responded about 6:20 p.m. Wednesday to an injury crash on Highway 26 near 75th E. involving a westbound vehicle that collided with two bicyclists traveling
west in a group, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.
Witnesses and other motorists had stopped and were administering first aid on the two bicyclists as rescue personnel arrived.
Both of the bicyclists were transported by Idaho Falls ambulances to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
One of the bicyclists, a 25-year-old female from Michigan, suffered critical injuries.
The other, a 22-year-old female from Virginia, is deceased.
The driver of the vehicle, a 33-year-old female from Idaho Falls, was also transported to EIRMC with non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies are still investigating the cause of the crash and names of those involved are not being released at this time pending family notification.
The bicyclists were part of an out-of-state group riding across country.
