Sacramento, CA : A two-vehicle crash in Santa Rosa Valley on Monday, December, 18th 2017
Authorities on Tuesday identified a woman who was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Santa Rosa Valley over the weekend.
The crash was reported at 2:24 p.m. at Santa Rosa and East Las Posas roads, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Lelis Navas Gutierrez, 41, of Newbury Park, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. She died of blunt-force injuries as a result of the accident, said Brian Applegate, an investigator with the Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office.
She was the driver and only occupant of a Toyota Corolla. The other vehicle involved was a pickup driven by a male who was the only occupant, said CHP Officer Marco Marin.
The Corolla was southbound on East Las Posas Road and making a left turn onto eastbound Santa Rosa Road when the crash occurred. The pickup was eastbound on Santa Rosa Road, Marin said.
Gutierrez suffered fatal injuries at the scene, Marin said.
It is under investigation as to who had the right of way, Marin said.
No arrests were made and alcohol are drugs are not suspected in the crash.
The pickup driver had a complaint of neck and back pain and was taken to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks.
