AUBURN, AL : Motorist freed from car that crashed into brook in Auburn on Monday, 16th July 2018

A woman was taken by ambulance to a hospital Monday night after the car she was in crashed through a barrier and into Stoneville Brook.

The car came to a rest in the shallow water of the brook, which runs under a bridge over Oxford Street North, near Rochdale Street.

The Auburn Fire Rescue Department reported on social media that the woman’s head remained above water as firefighters from Rescue 1 worked to extricate her.
