Valliant, OK : Man died in a crash involving a semi-tanker truck near Hwy 98 and U.S. 70 on Monday morning, September 19, 2016

Authorities have identified a man who died in an accident involving a semi-tanker truck on Monday morning.

Shortly before 11 a.m., troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol were called to an accident involving a semi-truck and a pickup near Hwy 98 and U.S. 70.

Investigators say 66-year-old Larry J. Nolen was driving a 2013 Chevy pickup truck northbound on Hwy 98 when he failed to yield and pulled out in front of a semi-tanker truck, which was heading eastbound on U.S. 70.

Officials say the semi-truck, which was carrying gasoline, hit the truck before rolling 1 and 3/4 times. The crash also caused the tanker to spill 500 gallons of gas into a ditch along U.S. 70.

Investigators say the driver and passenger in the semi-tanker were rushed to an area hospital in serious condition.

Nolen was ejected from his truck from the driver’s side door. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
