WEST YARMOUTH, MA : 2 injured in West Yarmouth crash on February, Wednesday 7th 2018

The drivers of two vehicles were brought to Cape Cod Hospital Wednesday morning after a crash near Cumberland Farms on Route 28.
The crash occurred around 6 a.m. when David Shiek of South Yarmouth turned his 2007 BMW left into the Cumberland Farms’ parking lot and collided with a 1999 Toyota Camry traveling east on Route 28, said Yarmouth Deputy Police Chief Steven Xiarhos.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene, he said.
Shiek is being cited for an unsafe lane change for his failure to yield while entering the parking lot, he said.
Shiek was treated and released from Cape Cod Hospital, according to hospital spokesperson Robin Lord. Fire officials could not immediately be reached for information on the nature of other injuries.
