JACKSON COUNTY, MO : Michigan couple killed in I-10 dump truck collision on Wednesday, December, 6th 2017
A Michigan couple were killed after pulling into the path of a dump truck on Interstate 10 Wednesday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported Herman Carter, 79, and Patricia Carter, 74, of Newaygo, Mich., both died of their injuries in the accident near I-10 and U.S. 231.
Herman Carter was merging onto westbound Interstate 10 in a Chevrolet 2500 when he lost control and traveled into the path of a westbound Mack dump truck being driven by Clifford Branch, 67, of Panama City, according to an FHP report. The dump truck struck the driver’s side of the truck, sending both vehicles skidding before landing, still conjoined, in the westbound travel lanes.
Branch was uninjured. FHP reported everyone was wearing a seat belt. Charges are pending investigation.
