Tampa , FL : 24 -Years old woman killed in Crash after 2006 Ford lost control and collided with the concrete barrier wall along Interstate 275 on Friday midnight , January 2nd 2015

An overnight crash on Interstate 275 near downtown Tampa claimed the life of a 24-year-old Tampa woman and closed the road for five hours, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Kandace Michelle Tapia of Tampa was one of six occupants in a 2006 Ford F150 that overturned on I-275 as it approached I-4 just before midnight Friday, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

The Ford was traveling northbound in the inside lane of I-275 approaching the junction to I-4 when it went out of control, traveled across all northbound lanes and collided with the concrete barrier wall. The Ford flipped several times before it came to rest in the outside lane.

Tapia, the only occupant not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. She was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where she died of her injuries.

The Ford's driver, Karen H. Juarez, 22, of Tampa, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The Ford's other occupants, Oscar Nicolas Sanchez, 41; Jose Omar Ocampo, 26; Cecilia De La Cruz, 27; and Cesar Alonzo Crucero, 44; all of Tampa, sustained minor injuries.

The accident is under investigation.
