Patrick County man dies after car accident Near Patrick Virginia

A Patrick County man died Friday from injuries he received in a Thursday crash, according to a release from the Virginia State Police.
Earlie Edward Marshall, 74, of Meadows of Dan, died early Friday at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., the release said.The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Thursday on Virginia 103 at Virginia 645 in Patrick County, the release stated.
According to the preliminary investigation, a 2000 Volkswagen Beetle was traveling north on Virginia 103 when a 1997 Chevrolet Malibu pulled into the path of the Volkswagen from Virginia 645. The Malibu was struck on the driver-side door, the release stated.Marshall was driving the Malibu, the release said. He was wearing a safety belt, it added.Additional information was not available, the release stated.
The investigation is continuing.
