Williamson, W.V : ACA graduate dies in crash in Boone County on Thursday afternoon, July 21, 2016

A Mingo County teenager was killed Thursday afternoon in Boone County.

Little information has been made available about the accident.

According to the West Virginia State Police (WVSP) Christopher Milam, 19 of Rawl, W.Va. pulled onto US 119 into the path of oncoming traffic.

Milam was pronounced dead at the scene. A juvenile in the vehicle was flown from the scene by HealthNet helicopter. That person’s condition is unknown at this time. No information could be obtained about the occupant(s) in the other vehicle.

The accident occurred in the area of Big Ugly area and Six Mile Road around 11:55 a.m. The crash temporarily closed the southbound lanes of traffic on Corridor G.

Milam was a 2016 graduate of Ambassador Christian Academy (ACA) in Williamson where he was active in BETA. According to classmates, faculty and staff, Chris was a friend to everyone, always having a smile on his face and making everyone laugh.

A vigil was held at Ambassador Christian Academy on Friday evening for family, friends, students and staff to reflect on Chris’ life.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete at presstime and were to be announced later by Hatfield Funeral Chapel of Toler, Ky.
