Jonesboro, AR : Car crashes into house during chase on Wednesday morning, November 19, 2014
A high speed chase ended with a car crashing into a house Wednesday morning, according to Arkansas State Police.
Bill Sadler, public information officer with Arkansas State Police, said Damontay Wright, 19, tried to get a driver's license at the State Police Headquarters in Jonesboro around 11 a.m. When an officer asked Wright about driving without a license, Wright jumped in the car and drove away, hitting a state police car, Sadler said.
Officers chased Wright on Ingles Street and Willow Road, where he veered off the road and into a yard before he crashed into the house.
A woman was home at the time of the crash, but she was not hurt. The collision caused significant damage to the home.
Arkansas State Police are investigating the case.
According to the Craighead County Sheriff's Office website, Wright faces charges for fleeing.
