Two women and a child were transported to hospitals after a hit-and-run in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said Megan O’Connel, 19, and her passengers Gabriela Martinez, 21, and Martinez’s 2-year-old son were pulling out of a driveway on Southeast Highway 42 in Summerfield when a white vehicle crashed into them and then took off Wednesday night. O’Connel and Martinez received minor injuries. The child was not injured in the crash. A witness told troopers the driver of the white vehicle was traveling with the headlights off.
