WEST FALLOWFIELD, PA : One person killed in head-on accident on Route 41 at the intersection with Friendship Road in West Fallowfield Township on Friday, 29th March 2019

One person was killed in a violent head-on accident early Friday morning in West Fallowfield Township

The accident happened at 2:42 a.m. on Route 41 at the intersection with Friendship Road in West Fallowfield Township.

According to state police at Avondale, a Chevrolet Cruze was traveling north on Gap-Newport Pike (Route 41) and crossed over into the opposing lane of travel, striking a tractor-trailer head-on. The driver of the Cruze was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer survived, but the extent of his condition is unknown.

The road was shut down for more than four hours Friday morning as police investigated. It reopened shortly before 8 a.m.
