No one was seriously injured when an SUV rear-ended a car and overturned near Westmoreland County Courthouse Saturday night.

Two adults were in the SUV traveling south at about 9:50 p.m. near the 100 block of North Main Street when its driver hit a pole before crashing into the car then sliding to the intersection of Main and Otterman streets, said Greensburg police Sgt. Charles Irvin.

A woman from the SUV and two adults from the car were transported to Excela Westmoreland Hospital as a precaution, Irvin said.

Traffic was blocked on Main Street from Pittsburgh to Tunnel streets and Otterman Street from Maple to Pennsylvania avenues until about midnight while police investigated and firefighters worked to remove a damaged directional sign.

Irvin said the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

“We're not suspecting impairment,” he said.
