WICHITA, KS : 1 seriously injured after vehicle hits tree in south Wichita on Saturday, 1st July 2023

One person was seriously injured Saturday morning during a single-vehicle crash in southeast Wichita, the Wichita Police Department said.

The crash happened near 2900 S. Oliver Ave. around 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

The driver was heading southbound on Oliver when their car drifted across the road into the northbound lane, police sergeant Dan Binkley said. The car then ran into a tree.

The driver was pinned inside his vehicle following the crash, Binkley said. Wichita firefighters had to remove one of the car doors to get inside.
