BRENTWOOD, CA : 19-year-old man killed in early Brentwood crash on Tuesday, 1st December, 2020

California Highway Patrol reported a fatal crash in Brentwood early Tuesday morning.

It happened on Vasco Rd, south of Walnut Blvd around 3:45 a.m.

A 19-year-old driver was killed after crossing over the solid double yellow lines and into the southbound lane, ultimately colliding head-on with another driver, according to the investigation.

The other driver, a 49-year-old man, suffered minor injuries. He is being treated at John Muir Hospital.

Officials did not release the identity of the 19-year-old, but said he is from Antioch. They are still investigating whether alcohol and drugs were a factor.

The CHP originally issued a Sig Alert at 4:22 a.m., closing Vasco Rd at eastbound Highway 4. The scene was cleared by 7:39 a.m.
