Sun Valley, NV : Three people injured, infant unharmed in head-on crash on Sun Valley Boulevard in Sun Valley on Thursday, March 17, 2016
Three people were taken to a hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries Thursday, March 17, after a Chevrolet pickup truck crashed into an Audi passenger car. An infant in a car seat in the Audi was not injured, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.
The accident happened at 6:23 a.m. On Sun Valley Boulevard just north of Second Avenue.
The NHP believes Terry Belvin, 60, of Reno was driving south on Sun Valley Boulevard when he allowed the Chevrolet to drift left, cross the center line and crash into an Audi driven by Hector Flores-Hermosillo, 21, of Sun Valley. The truck pushed the Audi 10 feet south and both vehicles came to rest in the northbound lanes, the NHP said. Both drivers and Tanisha Conley, a passenger with Belvin, were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, the NHP said.
Both northbound Sun Vallley Boulevard lanes were closed for several hours just north of Second Avenue, the NHP said.
Investigators are trying to determine if driver impairment caused the crash.
