HUNTSVILLE, AL : Busy Huntsville intersection closed because of wreck on Monday, 16th November, 2020

A crash that closed down an Airport Road intersection Monday morning appears to have been caused by a medical issue, Huntsville police said.

The wreck happened just after 8 a.m. at Airport and Balmoral Drive.

Police said a pickup truck crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and collided with three other cars. The driver of the pickup truck had to be revived at Huntsville Hospital and was in critical condition at last check, police said.

Police said the 57-year-old man’s hospitalization was due to a prior medical problem and not the wreck.

The road in the area was closed until about 9:30 a.m.
