Lincoln County, TN : One student injured after school bus crash on Hickory Ridge Road in Lincoln County on Thursday morning, Aug 6, 2015

A Lincoln County, TN school bus was involved in a wreck on Hickory Ridge Road on Thursday morning.

The Lincoln County Schools Superintendent Dr. Wanda Shelton confirmed bus number 8-63 was involved in a wreck at around 7 a.m. Thursday.

Carman Smith, LCS safety director, said there were at least 19 students on the bus at the time of the wreck. Four children were taken by ambulance to a Fayetteville hospital, where they were treated for minor cuts and abrasions, then released.

Shelton said parents were notified and school staff members were on the scene. Fifteen of the students were taken by their parents.

The students were on a bus that served Unity School, the ninth grade academy in Lincoln County, and Lincoln County High School.

Officials on the scene said the cause of the accident was a soft shoulder on the side of the dirt road. The bus has been turned upright and officials are working to determine damage to the bus.
