WILMINGTON, DE : Pedestrian struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash in Wilmington on May, Saturday, 13th 2017

Delaware State Police have identified the pedestrian struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash in Wilmington.

Troopers say in a news release that 53-year-old James Stokes was walking on a highway early Saturday when he was hit by a silver or gray Nissan. Police say the car didn’t stop and fled the scene.

Authorities say Stokes was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police say they don’t know if alcohol or drug use on behalf of Stokes was a factor in the crash.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact authorities.
