Laurel, MS: One injured in two-vehicle rollover crash in Jones County on Monday, July 20th 2015
Another horrific T-Bone crash, within a week, in the Glade community of Jones County sends one male driver to the hospital.At 11:03 a.m., emergency medical responders and rescue units from Glade, M&M, and Powers Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the accident which occurred at the intersection of Orange Drive and Antioch Drive. Upon arrival, firefighters found a Dodge Ram 3500 dually on its side, and a Mercury Grand Marquis with the passenger side door crushed in mid-way of the vehicle.The male driver of the Grand Marquis was transported to South Central Regional Medical Center by EMServ Ambulance Service with what was believed to be moderate injuries. The driver of the Dodge Ram appeared to be uninjured and refused transportation to the hospital.During the crash, a power pole was broken, and the power lines were laying in the intersection, causing traffic in all directions to be diverted until the power lines were repaired. A stop sign was also taken out during the crash, but replaced by Jones County District 3 personnel immediately after the completion of rescue and vehicle recovery operations.The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Jones County Sheriff’s Department.Also responding to the accident scene were Jones County Fire Coordinator Dan McKenna, Jones County Emergency Medical Responders Coordinator Lee Garick, and Dixie Electric Power Association.
