Volusia County, FL : Driver injured after two tractor-trailers jackknifed and crashed on I-95 North in Ormond Beach on Monday, April 13, 2015
All lanes of I-95 North in Ormond Beach are back open after being closed for several hours after two tractor-trailers jackknifed and crashed.
The crash happened just before 11 p.m. Monday at mile marker 270, just north of State Road 40.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the one semi was traveling behind the other one in the outside lane.
Investigators said the truck traveling in the front began to slow down and the second truck swerved to avoid hitting the other. The truck then swerved and struck the rear of the other truck. Both trucks jackknifed.
One of the semis came to rest blocking all three lanes, while the other landed on the side of the road.
Neither of the drivers was injured. The driver of the truck that hit the other one was ticketed for careless driving.
Troopers closed the roadway for more than seven hours as crews worked to clean up debris.
