Charlotte , NC : Car driver Died and van driver injured in crash after car crossed the painted lane divider and struck the Ford van head-on on Saturday, February 28th 2015

The two-car accident happened around 10:30 a.m. Saturday at 7600 Statesville Road.
Police said the silver Mazda car crossed the painted lane divider and struck the Ford van head-on.
Medic pronounced the Mazda’s driver, Charles Edward Bass II, dead on the scene. Police said Bass was not wearing his seatbelt and alcohol use is suspected.
The driver of the van, Juvencio Martinez, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
