A local man is dead after an ATV accident Friday off Tinmouth Pond Road.

Clifford G. Bushee Jr., 64, of Tinmouth, was pinned under the vehicle in a brook after trying to cross a small bridge Friday afternoon, according to Vermont State Police.

At the scene, Sgt. Blake Cushing said the man’s wife went to look for him and found him at 2:30 p.m.

Cushing said the man was found underwater in the brook 100 to 200 yards from the road. He could have been there for up to five hours, police said.

State Police are continuing to investigate the accident.
