Two people were killed when the car they were in burst into flames after crashing into the scaffolding in front of a Queens high school.
Authorities say they were in a Nissan Maxima that was on the Grand Central Parkway service road about 4:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police say the driver of the car lost control and the car hit construction scaffolding in front of the Thomas A. Edison Career and Technical Education High School on 84th Avenue in the Jamaica section.
The car caught on fire, with both people still inside. When the fire was put out, they were found unconscious with severe burn trauma and pronounced dead at the scene.
No identifications have been released pending family notification.
